Bluiett is the son of Reynardo and Mariam Bluiett. His siblings include Ashtyn, Juwaan, and Brody. The parents of both were as members of the United States Marines and fought in Operation Desert Storm in the 1990s. They met while both serving as Marines in the latter half of the 80s, at Camp Lejeune, in Jacksonville, North Carolina.

Bluiett went to Park Tudor School. In the Park Tudor School, Bluiett was awarded three IHSAA state championships. Bluiett took home two of his state IHSAA championships with Sacramento Kings point guard Yogi Ferrell. He also won his final state title in 2017 with fellow his 2017 McDonald’s All-American Game nominee Jaren Jackson Jr. is the the son of NBA Champion Jaren Jackson. Bluiett scored 2,568 points during his career, the sixth-highest total score in Indiana the history of high schools. In his senior year Bluiett averaged 35.7 scores and 11.4 rebound per game. Bluiett scored 38 points during the 2014 2A championship game. Bluiett was initially decided to join UCLA because of in part due to the fact that his previous coach Ed Schilling was an assistant at UCLA. Bluiett later resigned to UCLA and then reopened his application. After he resigned to UCLA the following year, he signed with Xavier because of the possibility of playing within the Big East Conference.

On January 24, 2018 Bluiett scored his 2,000th career point, becoming the fifth Musketeer to reach this milestone.

In a memorable performance during the junior season, Bluiett recorded 40 points against the rivals Cincinnati during Cincinnati’s 2017. Crosstown Shootout. Bluiett set a school record of nine 3-pointers and scored more points than any other Xavier athlete in the past since David West scored 47 in 2003.

Trevon Nykee Bluiett (/”‘ t r EI V A n’b I t/; born on November 4 1994) is an American professional basketball player who plays for the Salt Lake City Stars of the NBA G League. He played basketball in college with the Xavier Musketeers.

As he entered his sophomore year, Bluiett changed his diet and cut down on body fat. He was added to the watchlist of 35 men mid-season to compete for the Naismith Trophy on February 11 in 2016. Following the conclusion of the season Bluiett was picked as an USA Today Third-team All-American as in addition to being named as a member of the 1st Team All-Big East. Following the season , he entered his name into the NBA Pre-Draft, but withdrew his name before the deadline. He will then be drafted to Xavier.

After going undrafted in the 2018 NBA draft, Bluiett signed a Summer League deal with the New Orleans Pelicans. On July 17, 2018, Bluiett signed with the Pelicans on a two-way contract. On October 22, Bluiett was sent down to the Westchester Knicks after not appearing in the Pelicans’ first two games. On January 2, 2019, the Pelicans transferred Bluiett to the Salt Lake City Stars. Bluiett suffered a thumb injury, undergoing surgery on February 1, 2019.
