Tomasz Frankowski (Polish pronunciation:”‘tomas fraNG’kofskji born on sixteenth August 1974) is a former Polish footballer. The Polish footballer scored 168 goals over 302 games in Polish Ekstraklasa (3rd the all time goal scorer) and was the league’s top goalscorer four times.

He has selected 22 times by his country’s Polish national team and scored 10 goals which included one to beat England during England’s World Cup qualifying game at Old Trafford in October 2005.

In August 2006, he was loaned to another Spanish Segunda División side, CD Tenerife, for the 2006–07 season, where he scored on his home debut. However, at the end of his season at CD Tenerife, Frankowski returned to Wolves after the Spanish club decided not to purchase the player.

His spell at Wolves did not go so well, with Frankowski failing to score a single goal. This earned him the unenviable nickname of “the Pole without a goal” and also meant he was omitted from the 2006 World Cup squad by coach Paweł Janas. Previously, he had scored 9 goals in 11 games in the qualifying rounds for the 2006 World Cup in Germany.

While at Wisla was the time of his greatest achievements, as he helped Wisla achieve five Polish Championship titles (in 1999 2001, 2001 and 2003 2004 and 2005) and Two Polish Cups (in 2002 and 2003) and the Polish SuperCup title in 2001. He also was the top scoring player in the league three times, including in the three seasons with Wisla during 1999, 2001 as well as with Jagiellonia in 2011.

Born in Bialystok He began his professional career with his hometown side Jagiellonia Bialystok in 1991, before moving to France where he played for RC Strasbourg (1993-1996), then a brief time in Nagoya Grampus Eight of Japan (1996). Frankowski was then back in France and played for CFP Poitiers (1996-1997) and FC Martigues (1997-1998), after which he returned back to his homeland playing for Wisla Krakow.

Frankowski is a goal scorer with 10 in his 22 games with his Polish nation’s team. Frankowski made his international debut on April 28 in a 2-1 victory over the Czech Republic and netted his first international goal later in the year against Iceland.

He was Poland’s top scorer in their qualifying campaign for the 2006 World Cup in Germany, but his declining form immediately preceding the finals meant he was omitted from the tournament squad. He returned to the international fold after this, under new coach Leo Beenhakker, but won only two further caps.
