Tom Webley is one of the most popular and richest Cricketer who was born on March 2, 1983 in Bristol, United Kingdom. Thomas “Tom” Webley (born 2 March 1983) is an English cricketer. Webley is left-handed and bowls orthodox left-handed with a slow pace.

His affiliation with Somerset was over in 2004 and in 2005 he played for his team in Leicestershire Second XI. Webley was then able to play minor County cricket in Suffolk in 2005 before making arrangements for a move to the south where he was a part of Dorset in Minor County cricket from 2006 until 2007.

It was his decision to study in Anglia University, given its close proximity to Cambridge led to Webley being a part of the Cambridge University Centre of Cricketing Excellence in 2003. He made his first appearance in the first-class game on the field in 2003 against Essex. After two games, Webley scored his first century against Northamptonshire with a shrewd 100 before being exiled in the first innings by Monty Panesar. After a string of impressive performances for his Cambridge University team and in the Somerset Second XI, which was highly praised by the his then Second XI coach Mark Garaway. In the end, the Somerset player made his debut in the First XI of that season’s County Championship against Durham at the Riverside Ground. In a rather disappointing debut He was dismissed for six in Somerset’s opening innings with Vince Wells and for a duck in the second with Shoaib Akhtar.

Webley was born in Bristol prior to shifting to Corfe Mullen in Dorset, Webley was trained in King’s College, a boarding school located in Taunton, Somerset. In 1999, he made his debut in Somerset’s Somerset Second XI in the Second Eleven Championship. The year 2001 was the time when Webley got selected as a representative of Somerset Cricket Board Somerset Cricket Board in the 2001 Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy and consequently, Webley made his debut List A cricket against Wales Minor Counties, following this up when he made his first List A appearance, which was to be the final of his career. He played in the match against Cornwall in the 1st round of 2004 Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy which was played in 2002.

Webley played in five other first-class games in the first-class of Somerset during 2003. the final of which was against Derbyshire. Webley didn’t appear in List A or Twenty20 format for Somerset. In the following season, Webley continued to play for Cambridge University and did so until the season of 2005 in which he played his last first-class game against Middlesex. A pretty proficient batsman at the first-class level, Webley scored 833 runs in his 15 first-class games and averaged 34.70 He scored five half centuries , and one century. With the ball in his hand Webley took six wickets, with a bowling average of 59.50 The highest figure was of 2/5.

During the summer of 2007, he took up the role as a Teacher at Kimbolton School, and is Master in Charge of Cricket.In 2013, Tom made the move on a free transfer to Merchant Taylors’ schools and was manager of cricket there. Currently he is the Director of Sport at Wells Cathedral School and has held the position since September 2018.
