Todd Hlushko is one of the most popular and richest Canadian-Ice Hockey Player who was born on February 7, 1970 in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. Todd Bradley Hlushko (born February 7th 1970) is a Canadian former professional left winger in ice hockey. He is currently Director of Player Development and Director of Pro Scouting for the German club Adler Mannheim.
Hlushko was a player with his time in National Hockey League (NHL) for the Philadelphia Flyers, Calgary Flames and the Pittsburgh Penguins. He was part of his Canadian national team, and was part of Canada’s silver medal winning group at the 1994 Winter Olympics and bronze medal team at the 1995 World Championship.
Following the season, Hlushko moved to Europe where he played six seasons in the German Deutsche Eishockey Liga and represented Canada in smaller tournaments. He returned to Canada in 2006 where, after playing two seasons of senior hockey with the Dundas Real McCoys, Hlushko retired as a player.
In May 2016, Adler Mannheim of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL) appointed Hlushko as scout and team representative for North America.
Following immediately following the Olympics, Hlushko signed a contract with the Philadelphia Flyers for the remainder of the 1993-94 season. The AHL’s Hershey Bears where he scored six goals in nine games but was also summoned to play in two games for the Flyers. Hlushko began his NHL debut on the 10th of March 1994, when he played in a game against Ottawa Senators and scored his first goal on March 13 against the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Flyers let Hlushko to join free agency after the season and he was then signed to the Calgary Flames. He played the majority of 1994-95 season playing for the NHL’s Saint John Flames where he scored 22 goals over 46 games. He did play for two of the regular season matches for Calgary as well as made his NHL debut in the playoffs. Hlishko was also a part of the 1995 World Championship where he scored four goals in eight games and helped Canada take home the bronze medal.

Hlushko was a member of three teams over three seasons of his time as a junior hockey player. He started with Guelph Jr. B’s Guelph Jr. B’s in 1987-88 when he scored 37 goals, 83 goals over 44 games. He made the move to join the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) following the season in which scored 46 points. A 70-point year followed in 1989-90 when he split his time along with his moved Owen Sound Platers and the London Knights. Although it was reported that the NHL Central Scouting Bureau had Hlushko considered a possible sixth-round pick in the 90 NHL Entry Draft, he was not picked at the end of the round, which was the 12th. In the 12th round, Washington Capitals drafted him with the 240th overall choice but just 12 other players were chosen following his selection.
The Capitals assigned Hluskho to their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate known as the Baltimore Skipjacks. He played for two seasons in Baltimore and scored 23 points during 1990-91 before growing to 51 points during 1991-92. Hlushko quit the Capitals team in 1992 and joined his fellow Canadian national team with the goal of competing in the 1994 Winter Olympics. He was a part of Canadian nationals for two years and scored 44 goals in 113 games . He was selected for part of the Olympic team and scored seven goals across eight games and scored two goals in the win over France. Canada got to the gold medal match, but had to settle for a silver medal. Sweden which won 3-1 in a shootout.
The 1995–96 season was similar as Hlushko appeared in only four NHL games with the Flames; he played 35 with Saint John and missed 25 games due to a shoulder injury. In 1996–97, he played his only full season in the NHL. Hlushko appeared in 58 games for Calgary and recorded seven goals and 11 assists. He was again relegated to Saint John for the majority of 1997–98. Following the season, Hlushko was traded. On June 17, 1998, he was sent, along with German Titov, to the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for Ken Wregget and Dave Roche. Hlushko was again assigned to the minor leagues. He spent the 1998–99 season with the Grand Rapids Griffins of the International Hockey League (IHL) where he had 24 goals and 50 points. He was recalled to Pittsburgh during the 1999 Stanley Cup Playoffs and appeared in two games.
