Todd (Ryan) Boss (born on December 6 1968) is an American poet, artist of installation and film producer who lives at Minneapolis, Minnesota. He has published a number of poems and has published in literary magazines. He also has written many poems that is intended for use in musical settings usually by collaborating with musician Jake Runestad.

As a poet that is suited to musical settings, Boss has collaborated with Jake Runestad on four choral pieces such as and So I Go On, Waves, One Flock as well as Ave Verum. He also composed the poetry of the song cycle Panic written by Andy Vores, which was first presented in Boston Conservatory in 2014. An installation artist Boss made a tribute to the bridge’s collapse in Minneapolis in collaboration with Swedish artist Maja Spasova. The installation was made in conjunction with a series of 35 poemscalled “Fragments for the 35W Bridge”. He also organized a massive projection of a poetry film onto the façade of the historical Union Depot in Saint Paul, Minnesota in 2014.

Boss is a native of Marshfield, Wisconsin, but was raised on the dairy farm near Colby, Wisconsin, when his parents relocated to a ranch located in Fall Creek, Wisconsin. He was a student at St. Olaf College from 1987 to 1991, obtaining an undergraduate degree in English and speech-theater. He continued his advanced studies in the University of Alaska Anchorage between 1992 and
