Timothy Patrick Gleason (born January 29th 1983) is an American former professional defenseman in ice hockey. The team selected him by the Ottawa Senators in the first round, 23rd overall in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, Gleason was a player for the NHL for the Los Angeles Kings, Carolina Hurricanes, Toronto Maple Leafs and the Washington Capitals.

Gleason is well-known for his toughness and grit game, such as his diving attempt during the Hurricanes to keep the puck from moving out of the offensive zone during the 7th game of Eastern Conference Semifinals against the New Jersey Devils, which resulted in a game-winning goal. He also was hit in the face while competing against Washington Capitals in 2009. On July 3, 2014, Gleason returned to the Carolina Hurricanes as a free agent, signing a one-year, $1.2 million contract. After spending three seasons in the Kings organization, Gleason, along with Eric Belanger, was traded to the Carolina Hurricanes on September 29 the 29th of September, 2006 as a trade for the defense of Oleg Tverdovsky as well as Jack Johnson. Gleason was with the Hurricanes until January 1, 2014, at which point Gleason was acquired by the Toronto Maple Leafs in a trade with John- Michael Lieses along with Dennis Robertson. The team was able to sign him on June 30, 2014 the Maple Leafs announced that Gleason received an unconditional waiver from the Maple Leafs for the purpose of a buyout contract.
