Tim Flowers is one of the most popular and richest English football manager who was born on February 3, 1967 in Kenilworth, Western Cape, South Africa. Timothy David Flowers (born 3 February 1967) is an English former professional soccer player and goalkeeping coach who was as manager at Solihull Moors.
Flowers has won 11 caps for England between 1993 until 1998. He was part of the teams to each of Euro 96 in England and the 1998 FIFA World Cup in France. He retired after the 2002-03 football season.
He was transferred to Leicester City, where he collected a Football League Cup winner’s medal in his first season. In August 2002 he went on loan to Manchester City to provide cover for Carlo Nash after injuries to Peter Schmeichel and Nicky Weaver. He stayed with Leicester for one season after their relegation to Division One two years later before retiring as a player. His final appearance for Leicester City was against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux in May 2003. It was the final game of the season, and with Leicester 1–0 down, Flowers came on as a late substitute for Ian Walker. Leicester were awarded a late penalty, and despite shouts from the travelling Leicester fans for Flowers to take the penalty, and Flowers himself signalling to the bench, Micky Adams (then Leicester manager) ignored the fans, and allowed Trevor Benjamin to take it, who scored.
Following a spell as goalkeeper coach for both Leicester City and Manchester City, on 19 February 2007 he was appointed as assistant manager to Iain Dowie at Coventry City. Flowers left Coventry on 11 February 2008 after Dowie was sacked, before joining him again at Queens Park Rangers. He left the assistant manager’s role at QPR as well after Dowie was sacked again.
He was signed by First Division club Southampton for PS70,000 in June of 1986. He was an understudy for Peter Shilton in 1986-87, but he only played nine games in the league (the first was in an 1-0 loss against Manchester United in mid September) and played another seven games as a loan player for Swindon Town in the Third Division. He also made nine league appearances between 1987 and 1988 (by when Shilton was signed by Derby County) and returned to Swindon for five matches on loan prior to becoming Southampton’s regular goalie during the 1989-90 campaign. Within a few years of being Southampton’s first choice goalie, Flowers was regarded as one of the top goalkeepers of the English league, and the inevitable rumors of a move to a larger club were rumoured.

Flowers is a native of Kenilworth and began his professional career in the club Wolverhampton Wanderers in 1984. He was quickly able to break into their first squad, and was their goalkeeper of choice by the time of the age of 18, but his breakthrough came during the darkest point during the history of the club since the two seasons that he played there ended with the relegation (in the years 1984 and 1985) in 1984-85 to the Third Division and in 1985-86 to the Fourth Division. Following the time that Wolves were relegated to the Fourth Division to complete a three-time relegation They had to sell Flowers as part of an efforts to stay out of bankruptcy.
He was goalkeeper from 1984 until 2003. He was a part of the Blackburn Rovers side that won the Premier League in 1995 and received 11 caps for England. The team also included Wolverhampton Wanderers, Southampton, Swindon Town, Leicester City, Stockport County, Coventry City and Manchester City.
He finally left Southampton on 4 November 1993 when a £2.4million move to Blackburn Rovers made him the most expensive goalkeeper in Britain. His excellent goalkeeping was not quite enough to win Blackburn the Premier League title that season, but they did finish second to Manchester United, and went one better the following year when they won their first top division title since 1914. He remained at Ewood Park for another four seasons before Blackburn were relegated in 1999.
