For 2008, he was in Team West-Tec in Spanish Formula Three and began the year with a Dallara F306 model prior to switching to a brand new F308 version after the initial two races during the year. In August, Ebbesvik dominated the most important event of the season to take the win at the Valencia Street Circuit, with the race being an event to support Formula One’s Formula One European Grand Prix. He won another victory in the race in Jerez in October. He finished the season in tenth position just one place ahead of teammate Jonathan Legris.

Ebbesvik continued in the championship for a third year in 2009, when the series was renamed as the European F3 Open Championship. He finished the season in fifth place, taking a single victory at Donington Park with further podium places at Magny–Cours and Monza.

For the final two rounds of the 2011 Le Mans Series, Ebbesvik signed to Boutsen Energy to lead their LMP2 campaign, replacing their previous pro driver, Nicolas de Crem, in the team’s Oreca 03-Nissan.

In 2007 Ebbesvik made the move in 2007 to Formula Three, competing in the Spanish championship for the British outfit Team West-Tec. He was in the second Copa de Espana class, which was dominated by older-generation Dallara chassis. In the final race his season, he was just behind Peruvian driver Juan Manuel Polar, but was awarded the title on account of having more second-place finishes than Polar after they both won seven class wins.

Ebbesvik started his race career back in the year 2005 by driving in the Team JLR in the British Formula Ford Championship. He finished the season in sixth position and participated in the season-ending Formula Ford Festival at Brands Hatch but failed to make it to the podium. He returned to the series in 2006 and improved to fourth on the overall championship. He had four podium finishes throughout the season which included a win at Thruxton. He took part again of the Formula Ford Festival, this time as a Duratec racer however, he was unable to finish the race.

In September 2007 Ebbesvik was the first Norwegian to drive in a GP2 car, when he threw a test with Racing Engineering at the Jerez circuit. In the following year, he participated of GP2 tests, and drove in the name of Racing Engineering, Arden International, DAMS and Fisichella Motor Sport at both Paul Ricard and Jerez. He had planned to compete on GP2 in 2009 but was unable to come up with the funds needed to participate. The month of November was 2008 when Ebbesvik was also a participant at Formula Renault 3.5 Series testing as a driver for Comtec Racing and Fortec Motorsport in Valencia.

In May 2009, Ebbesvik contested the opening two races of the new Formula Le Mans Cup at Spa–Francorchamps. Sharing an Oreca FLM09 with Swiss driver Christophe Pillon, he finished both races in fifth position.
