Thomas Anton Rudolph Lam (born 18 December 1993) is a professional Finnish-Dutch football midfielder and defensive defender who is a player with PEC Zwolle and represents the Finland national team. He began his professional club career with AZ Alkmaar before signing as a player with PEC Zwolle at age 20 in 2014.

Lam was born and brought to be a part of the Netherlands to the parents of a Finnish mother as well as a Dutch father, began his career as a youth player at AFC before changing towards AZ Alkmaar at the end of 2005 which is where he advanced through the academy before beginning his career as a senior player in AZ Alkmaar in the year 2011, which was when he signed his debut professional contract. Soon after, Lam was given number twenty-eight jersey for the upcoming season. While he didn’t make an appearance during the 2011-12 season the news was released on the 13th of April, 2012, Lam signed the contract with AZ which he signed until 2016 , and was named Finland Tale’s Promising player Award Winner.

During Eredivisie seasons 2014–15 and 2015–16 he made a total of 64 appearances and scored 4 goals.

After appearing as an unused substitute in a 4-1 win over Ajax in the Johan Cruyff Shield. Lam made his PEC Zwolle debut on 16 August 2014, where he came on as substitute for Maikel van der Werff in the second half, in a 2–1 win over Dordrecht. It wasn’t until on 29 October 2014 when Lam scored his first hat–trick of his career, in a 6–1 win over Hardenberg in the third round of the KNVB Cup. Lam then scored his first league goal of the season on 20 December 2014, in a 2–1 loss against Cambuur. Lam scored once again in the quarter final of the KNVB Cup, in a 3–2 win over Cambuur, followed up by scoring in a 2–0 win over FC Utrecht several days later. Despite suffering from injury and suspension, as the 2014–15 season progressed, Lam went on to make thirty–four and scoring six times in all competitions. Lam played 81 minutes in the final of the KNVB Cup, which saw them unsuccessfully defend the title, in a 2–0 loss against Groningen.

For the season 2012-13, Lam suffered a setback in the 2012-13 season when he experienced leg injury in the early part of the year. It wasn’t until 16 September 2012 that Lam was able to make the AZ debut, joining as an alternative to Giliano Wijnaldum as a final minute of the 1-0 win at home against Roda JC. After spending the majority of the season in the side, Lam was however sent off with an instant red card in the 31st minute, during the 2-1 victory over Heracles Almelo on March 31, 2013 and was given an two-match suspension in the aftermath. In spite of this, Lam went on to end the season in the top spot, making six appearances with the club. Even though he didn’t play in the team but the club took home the KNVB Cup after beating PSV Eindhoven by 2-1 to take the trophy.

Lam has an older brother. He was in his late teens when Lam was devastated in the form of his father’s death from lung cancer in the year 2009.

In the opening game of the season, Lam scored on his Nottingham Forest debut in a 4–3 win over Burton Albion on 6 August 2016. After missing out two matches, Lam scored his second goal for the club on his return from the squad, in a 4–3 win over Wigan Athletic on 20 August 2016.
