An Norwegian young international Bendiksen was signed by Rangers on August 31, 2007 in an agreement for three years from Harstad IL. Rangers offered the Norwegian team 1 million Norwegian Krone (around 90,000 PS). A knee injury that lasted for a long time caused him to stop his career and forced him to miss the entire 2008-09 season as well as much of the next season.
Bendiksen was a standout in reserve team matches after his return to action during the 2009-10 season. In addition, Bendiksen was selected as substitute for a league game with Hibernian in April of 2010. Bendiksen had his debut “first-team” appearance in a preseason friendly game in a friendly match against Queen of the South in July 2010. After suffering further injuries He signed an extension of his contract to six months in July of 2011. Bendiksen made a score during an international friendly against Hamburg in which Bendiksen was offered a second contract. He was the first player to play a competitive game for Rangers on December 3rd, 2011, with an 2-1 home win over Dunfermline Athletic.
On 29 July 2015, Bendiksen joined Tromsø on loan for the remainder of the 2015 season.
