Thomas Erdos is one of the most popular and richest Racing Automobile Driver who was born on October 30, 1963 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Thomas “Tommy” Erdos (born 30 October 1963) is a Brazilian auto racing driver. He raced for the majority time throughout Great Britain and Europe, which is where he lives at Buckinghamshire England with his partner Sheila. He has three kids.
In the 2002 season, Erdos was joined by Ian McKellar Jnr in the British GT championship driving the identical Saleen S7R, which was run by GNM that is now white. It was supported by numerous AD Group companies together with Mouchel Metro and Renault trucks South West. The team won the championship , and Erdos was awarded the Top Gun award for achieving the pole position in every race.
Erdos began 2003 at Daytona in the Rolex 24 and then Erdos contested the FIA GT Championship in a Saleen S7R entered by GNM. His co-driver was Mike Newton and the car ran in the livery of Newton’s AD Group of Companies. At Le Mans, the same car was run by Ray Mallock Ltd (RML) and Erdos’ co drivers were Chaves and Newton. They failed to finish after a gearbox failure in the 24th hour.
Erdos was very busy in 2004 driving the MG EX257 in the inaugural Le Mans Endurance Series of 1000 km races together with Newton and Miguel Ramos and also sharing the Saleen with Newton in the FIA GT Championship. Both cars were run by RML. He finished 5th in LMP1 class of the LMES and 6th in the GT class of the FIA GT Championship. For Le Mans he shared the MG with Newton and Nathan Kinch but a good run was ended by engine failure.
Erdos was able to drive in the highly regarded British Touring Car Championship in 2001. In the beginning, the ABG Motorsport Team had planned to enter two separate Lexus IS200s along with Kurt Luby. The end result was that only one vehicle raced throughout the season which led to Erdos taking over Luby at the halfway point of the season. Even though he raced only 12 races from a total of 26 rounds, he managed to impress a lot of people by competing with the company team, and ending the season seventh in terms of points. He was slated to drive at the BTCC in 2007 to compete in the Xero Competition, but the team was not able to get the funds required.

His first race was single-seaters back in 1988, participating as part of the British Formula First Championship. His remarkable start in racing was to see him place second in his debut season, taking home eleven podiums, which included five wins in races. The following year, he competed for the Formula Ford 2000 Championship, placing third with three wins in races. He was in 1990 when he moved into British Formula Renault. The nine podium finishes, which included four wins in races made it enough to earn him the title. When he was practicing in Formula Three at the end of the season the driver was involved in a fatal accident that forced him off the track for the entire year. After that, he resumed racing and had some results through Formula Renault in 1992 and 1994, and an entire year of Formula 3 in-between. He also served as an instructor at Jim Russell Racing School. In 1995, he began GT racing. He drove the Marcos LM600, he drove in the BRDC GT Championship for Team Marcos. The first year of GTs saw him win four class wins, as well with a win in the overall race. In addition, this year saw his first race during his first race, the Le Mans 24 Hour race. He was still with Team Marcos alongside Chris Hodgetts and Cor Euser the race was ended with retirement. An effort in the direction of Marcos Racing International in the BPR Global Endurance GT series which saw him finish third on the GT2 class at the close of 1996’s season. His participation during the Le Mans 24 Hour race was a failure, as were Cor Euser as well as Pascal Dro. The BRDC GT Championship he drove only a few races. In 1997, he raced with Cirtek Motorsport in a Ford Saleen Mustang GT2 and then moving into AJL Racing, where he drove the Jaguar XJ220 GT1, where there were four podium finishes. He also competed in two races in the FIA GT Championship for Cirtek Motorsport. Again, his race at the Le Mans 24 Hour ended with the form of a retirement. In 1998, he raced various cars in the BRDC GT Championship, including a TVR Cerbera GT2, a Porsche 911 GT2 and finally returning to the Marcos LM600 for NCK Racing that he raced in 2000 and 1999. In 1999, he took second place overall in the Le Mans 24 Hours. In 1999, his Chrysler Viper GTS-R finished the race, but was plagued by mechanical issues. In 2000, he raced for one lap in the ALMS in the Nurburgring in which he came in second place in the Chrysler Viper GTS-R for Chamberlain Motorsport.
In January 2002 Erdos, together with Ian McKellar Jnr and Bobby Verdon-Roe, ran in the Daytona 24 Hours in a Saleen S7R entered by Graham Nash Motorsport (GNM). The car was so new that it ran in unpainted carbon fibre. Erdos was fastest in class in the early stages despite running against the formidable Jaguar of Paul Gentilozzi. However, alternator failures forced the team to ‘park’ the car after the opening few hours, using their remaining alternator to enable them to take the chequered flag by coming out to complete the final few laps.
