In the 2012-13 season After making six appearances for Citta di Concordia, he quit for the team and joined A.C.D. Gruaro also playing in Eccellenza Veneto league. Gruaro was dropped, however, Ekwalla was still playing until the end of the winter break in the 2014-15 season, when he relocated towards La Salute. The following year, during the winter break following the club moved him to Jesolo.
In the 2011-12 season, he was in the 2011-12 season with U.S. Opitergina, in Italy in the Eccellenza Veneto.

Ekwalla quit Cameroon at the age of 17 and moved in Italy initially playing for Treviso F.B.C.’s youth squad Treviso F.B.C. and later as a senior in 2002-2004 between 2002 and 2004, with U.S. Citta di Jesolo. Ekwalla later signed an official contract for Serbia together with FK Cukaricki Stankom andplayed in the 2004-05 season. In the summer of 2005, he participated in trial matches with French Olympique De Marseille as well as Romanian club CSM Jiul Petrosani but Cukaricki wanted a large amount. He played during the 2005-06 season in the Serbian second-tier, also known as which is the Serbian First League. In the following year after, he was released and relocated to Romania joining FC Universitatea Cluj. In the following years, he has also been a player in Romania as a member of CSM Ramnicu Valcea and FCM Campina.
In 2008, he came back to Italy in 2008 and played with S.S.D. Calcio San Dona one season. He was then a part of 2 seasons for A.C.D. Citta di Concordia.
