Theodorus Martinus Maria “Theo” Lucius (born 19 December, 1976) was a Dutch former soccer player. He can play as a right defender or a central defender and as defensive midfielder.

In January of 2004, Lucius made headlines for selling illegal fireworks to a man in Breda in the month of December previous year. The device was used and the man suffered serious injuries and lost an eye. In the end, Lucius suffered several days in prison as well as being sentenced for community work. The first sentence was to be sentenced to 80 hours. The time limit was increased in 2006 to 24 hours.

Lucius moved to Feyenoord for 2006–07, scoring a career-best five goals in 27 games as the De Kuip side finished in seventh position. He won the following season’s domestic cup, against Roda JC (2–0).

Following the return of Giovanni van Bronckhorst, Lucius was stripped of his captain armband. In June 2009, his contract with the Rotterdam club ended, and Lucius spent the following months training with former club Den Bosch in view of a permanent move, supposedly with an amateur contract; eventually, nothing came of it and he joined FC Groningen for one season.

After Erik Gerets took over from the English, Lucius was sent on loan to Utrecht before returning to the Philips side during the 2000-01 season and then continued to be used regularly in both Belgian or his successor Guus Hiddink. Utrecht was able to win four Eredivisie championships. It also made it to the semifinals of the 2004-05 season of the UEFA Champions League, being defeated in the final by A.C. Milan in the final moments of the game (3-1 home win after an 0-2 defeat in the first match) and in his final two seasons, the player was more of a right-back.
