Thaciano was a definite star in the team of Porto in the 2014 season when his team secured an entry into Serie D. In January 2013, following having fully recovered after an accident, he was signed by Serie B club Boa Esporte on loan until the close of the season.

The birthplace of Thaciano was Campina Grande, Paraiba, Thaciano was a Porto de Caruaru youth graduate. He was promoted to first-team in the year 2013 and made his debut for the senior team on the 20th of January the same year, when he made his debut in the 4-4 Campeonato Pernambucano home loss against Central.

Thaciano made his debut for the club on the 1st of September, 2015, appearing as a substitute late in a home defeat of 1-2 against Parana. The goal he scored was his first on the 16th of October, scoring the second goal in the 2-2 draw at home in a 2-2 draw against Sampaio Correa. He made 11 appearances and scored four goals while his team was relegated.

On 29 November 2017, after scoring a career-best ten goals, Thaciano agreed to a two-year loan deal with Grêmio, with a buyout clause. On 7 May 2019, he was bought outright by the club for a fee of R$ 2 million for 80% of his federative rights, and signed a three-year contract.
