Terence Fitzroy Connor (born 9 November 1962) is an English former footballer turned coach of football, and has been appointed assistant coach of the Republic of Ireland national football team. His birthplace was in Leeds and attended school in the Foxwood School, Seacroft, Leeds.
He joined coaching after his retirement from playing, coaching at Bristol City and Bristol Rovers. Bristol Rovers and Bristol City before joining Wolves in 1999. After several roles, he was Wolves manager for 13 games following Wolves’ Premier League relegation in 2012.
In May 2012 Wolves announced that Connor would be succeeded by Ståle Solbakken as a permanent appointment during the summer. Connor had also been interviewed for the position. It was agreed that he would return to his position as assistant manager following Solbakken’s appointment, but he departed after just four games of the new season.
Connor took charge with Wolves in 18th place, one of five teams at the foot of the table looking to avoid the three relegation places. His first game in charge brought a 2–2 draw at Newcastle United on 25 February 2012. However, his side then suffered seven consecutive defeats which left them rooted to the bottom of the table and were relegated on 22 April after a 0–2 defeat to Manchester City. In his thirteen games, he failed to achieve any wins and gained only four points from a possible 39. The team finished bottom of the table with one of the lowest points tallies in their history (25).
Following John Ward moved to become assistant manager of Wolverhampton Wanderers, he recruited Connor to join their coaching team in August 1999.

Connor scored his first goal on his debut as a senior player with Leeds United aged 17, in a 1-0 victory over West Bromwich Albion on 17 November 1979. He played 108 times over the course of his time at Leeds in four seasons and scored 22 goals. He was signed by Brighton & Hove Albion in exchange for Andy Ritchie, in March 1983. He was unable to take part in the club’s FA Cup Final appearance just few months later because the club was already cup tied. The club was being relegated. Most of Connor’s matches for Brighton were from the Second Division. His performances here earned his the England under-21 cap November of 1986 where he scored and played with Yugoslavia under-21. The striker scored 51 goals over his 156 games, before he left Brighton when they fell into the third division in 1987. One of his best goals for Brighton was in the final game of the season, when they defeated Liverpool off the 1982-84 FA Cup, a season that saw Liverpool were crowned the Football League Cup, European Cup and were named English champions. He relocated to on the South Coast to sign for Portsmouth as part of a PS200,000 package.
Portsmouth were elevated into the First Division at the time when Connor arrived, however despite his efforts, they were dropped after only one season. The club remained with Fratton Park for three seasons before signing with Swansea City for PS150,000 in August of 1990. After one year with Swansea City, the Swans at the bottom of their division the club moved into Bristol City in September 1991. The club did not make a huge impression in the first season at Bristol City, playing just 16 times and scoring just once and was returned to Swansea in the autumn of 1992. He moved into non-League football in the summer of 1993, when he joined Conference team Yeovil Town.
On 1 November 2012, Connor renewed his working relationship with Mick McCarthy, as he was appointed Ipswich Town’s new assistant manager after McCarthy took charge at the club. On 2 February 2013, Connor took charge of Ipswich while McCarthy was ill and won 4–0 against Middlesbrough.
