Teddy Williams Jr (born July 3 1988) is an American football cornerback, who is currently an unsigned free agent. He was not a college player in football however he was an Olympic quality world-class 4-time NCAA All American sprinter at the University of Texas at San Antonio.
Williams was the first UTSA NFL player. In 2010 , the Dallas Cowboys were having their training camp in San Antonio. Williams who was about to have completed his senior year and was left with one year left of playing time in another sport, was invited to try out due to at a local school, and due to the connection between the University of Texas San Antonio’s Assistant Eric Roark and the Cowboys director of scouting Tom Ciskowski. While he didn’t play football in his college years but the Cowboys were attracted by his speed/size ratio and decided to sign the ineligible free-agent on July 31st, 2010.
Williams signed with the Arizona Cardinals on October 21, 2013. The Cardinals switched him from cornerback to wide receiver. On October 27, during a 27-13 victory over the Atlanta Falcons, Williams caught a 51-yard pass from quarterback Carson Palmer. The reception was the first of his career. On November 17, during a game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, he tore his achilles and was placed on injured reserve.
On October 1, 2014, he was signed by the Chicago Bears from the Cardinals’ practice squad. He was released on November 10, after appearing in five games and registering two special teams tackles. He was claimed off waivers by the Jacksonville Jaguars on November 11, 2014. He played in two games and was declared inactive for four. He was not re-signed after the season ended.
The Cowboys were unsure of where to put Williams initially, and tried him at cornerback before choosing wide receiver. Williams was on the team throughout the entire preseason and was released the 4th of September, 2010 prior to being added to the practice team. He was drafted onto the team’s active roster the 21st of December of 2010. In training camp Dallas Cowboys’ 2011 training camp, he was hampered by a hamstring strain he was afflicted after a collision with Assistant Jimmy Robinson, and was released on September 3. The 2011 season was spent as a member of the Cowboys practice team. He was signed to a future’s deal on January 2nd 2012. In the training season, he transferred between wide receiver and cornerback however, he was not able to make the team, and was cut on August 31st, 2012.

In the following season, he achieved a record times that was 9.90 seconds for the 100m race in the UTEP Invitational, that ranked as the highest in school history, and also the fastest across the globe during the course of four months. In the year 2010, Williams held the #4 fastest indoor 60m time in the country at 6.59 seconds, and also the top 100m speed in the NCAA during the season with 10.01 seconds.
