Teddy Thompson was born in 1976 in the London Sufi commune with folk rockers Richard Thompson and Linda Thompson, both major musicians of the English folk scene in the 1960s and beyond. Thompson is the brother of the singer Kamila Thompson. He formed his own group in the year 18. He relocated into Los Angeles to pursue his music career. It also included working as a guitarist and singer player with his father Richard’s band in the 90s. He was featured on at most 3 Richard Thompson Band recordings from at the time”You? Me? Us? Thompson’s fifth studio album Bella was released in February 2011. Bella is Thompson’s fourth album released on the record label Verve Forecast. The album is produced by David Kahne. Bella contains all original songs which Thompson started working on after returning from his last tour. The single “‘Looking for a Girl” was released on 13 January 2011 on Verve Forecast. Bella received positive reviews in the UK and the US. Critics also note that this is Thompson’s most personal record to date which yet again shows off his talent as a vocalist and craftsman of both deeply personal and hummable pop tunes.

The year 2005 was the time that Thompson issued his first full length album Separate Ways. The album has a distinct “second-generation” artist theme, including Rufus along with Martha Wainwright, who are close to Thompson. Thompson has toured along with Wainwrights as well as Rufus his 2003 album Want One. Teddy along with Rufus recorded a cover of “King of the Road” for the film of the same name, Brokeback Mountain and with Thompson adding a solo trackcalled “I Don’t Want to Say Goodbye”. Separate Ways includes Dave Mattacks, Tony Trischka and Garth Hudson of The Band and was recorded by Brad Albetta, who also produced Martha Wainwright’s highly acclaimed debut album.
