Teddy Lehman (born November 18 1981) is an American former professional and college footballer who played defensive linebacker for the National Football League (NFL) for seven seasons. He played for the college team of at the University of Oklahoma, and was twice deemed an unconfirmed All-American. He was selected by the Detroit Lions chose him in the second round of the 2004 NFL Draft, and he also played for the Buffalo Bills and Jacksonville Jaguars of the NFL and The Las Vegas Locomotives of the United Football League (UFL).
The 2003 season was the year that Lehman led players in tackles with 117. He also added one forced fumble, 2 interceptions and 19 tackles for loss. Lehman ended his college career with his 21-14 Sugar Bowl loss against the LSU Tigers with eight tackles (six by himself) as well as two stops at the line of scrimmage with one of them being a sack. Lehman was deemed the all-time first team All-American and was a first-team All-Big 12 selection. He was honored with his Dick Butkus Award, given to the top linebacker in the country as well as the Chuck Bednarik Award which is given to the country’s best defensive player. Lehman was rated as the best outside linebacker prospect in the nation in The NFL Draft Report.

The year 2002 saw Lehman was promoted to linebacker of the weakside and was replaced by Butkus Award winner Rocky Calmus. Lehman was named the consensus First-Team All-American and was awarded first-team awards at The Associated Press, the Football Writers Association of America, the Walter Camp Foundation, The Sporting News, CNNSI, ESPN and Sports Illustrated. He recorded six tackles (five without assistance) during the Rose Bowl against Washington State and was able to smack Jason Gesser twice in the second quarter for 17 yards of loss. Both sacks stopped scoring drives after the conclusion of the second half and played a key role in Oklahoma’s first Rose Bowl win.

While at at the University of Oklahoma, Lehman was a player for Bob Stoops’s Oklahoma Sooners football team from 2000 until 2003. When he was a freshman in 2000 Lehman played in 12 games most of them on special teams, as well as a reserve linebacker.
