Tatu is one of the most popular and richest Association Football Player who was born on February 1, 1962 in Mairinque, Brazil. Tatu has a number of indoor record-breaking records in soccer. Tatu is second in all-time goal scoring with 857 goals. He is second in seasons in play (21). He is the only player Victor Nogueira has played more in the last 23 seasons. He ranks seventh in all-time lists with the most games that he played (633). He’s also second in scoring points (1585) and third in shot attempts (4396) and third in winning goals (77). Tatu is the leading scorer of power play goals, scoring the most with 113. Tatu is one of three players who win all four championships for The Dallas Sidekicks.

Tatu has also been as a coach in The Highlands School in Irving, Texas, where he was the coach of his Blazers into three national championships, in 1998, 1997 and 2000. His high school squad the coach is currently coaching currently is Prince of Peace Christian School located in Carrollton, Texas. Tatu has led players from the Prince of Peace varsity boys to seven TAPPS state championships in 2003 2004 and the 2006 (all the fall titles) and the 2009-2010, 2010-2011, and the 2011 and 2012 seasons (all the winter titles). The 2017-18 year, Tatu led his team to the TAPPS State Final Four where the Eagles were defeated in a torrential rainstorm with Brighter Horizons Academy. Tatu is also currently coaching numerous girls soccer teams for Sting Soccer Club in North Texas.

In 1998, the Sidekicks competed in the Premier Soccer Alliance. The PSA became the World Indoor Soccer League in 1999. In 2002, Dallas entered the newly reconstituted Major Indoor Soccer League. Tatu retired from playing in 2003.

Tatu was known for throwing his jersey into the crowd after scoring a goal, a tradition that started during his time with the Tampa Bay Rowdies. He is a well-respected sports figure in Dallas because he is considered to be one of the best players to have played the indoor game in the U.S. His community involvement includes running many soccer camps in the Dallas area. When the Olympic Torch came through Dallas for the 2002 Salt Lake City games, Tatu had the honor as serving as a torch bearer.

The NASL was shut down in 1984 and Tatu was transferred into The Dallas Sidekicks of Major Indoor Soccer League. After Tatu relocated to Dallas Cleveland Force sued the Cleveland Force sued the Sidekicks and claimed they had an agreement with him to buy their contract Rowdies. The Sidekicks ultimately gave the Force their second choice in the draft of 1985. Tatu was Tatu was a Dallas Sidekick, Tatu was one of four teams that won the championship for the Sidekicks (1987 1993, 1988, as well as 2001). From 1984 to 1992, the Sidekicks were part of MISL. The league ended in 1992 in 1992, and Dallas transferred to the newly-created Continental Indoor Soccer League until the league collapsed in 1997. The CISL was active during the summer season, and Tatu was a part of the winter season of 1993-94 playing with the Wichita Wings of the National Professional Soccer League.

Tatu arrived in his home in the United States after playing with Sao Paulo. Tatu had planned to play for a period of time and earn enough money to afford the house located in Sao Paulo. Tatu joined Tampa Bay Rowdies of the NASL. Tampa Bay Rowdies of the NASL in the 1981-82 indoor season . He made a hat trick during his debut game, even though he hadn’t yet had the chance to train with his new team. Tatu quickly became a popular fan when he played a few more indoor and outdoor seasons in Tampa Bay. He was a part of the Rowdies who won the 1983 NASL Grand Prix of Indoor Soccer.

In 1998, Tatu replaced Gordon Jago as the head coach of the Dallas Sidekicks. Tatu is the only person to win the player of the year and the coach of the year in the same season (1998). As a head coach, he went 63–53 in the regular season and 7–3 in the playoffs.
