Tasos Avlonitis is one of the most popular and richest Greek footballer who was born on January 1, 1990 in Chalcis, Greece. Tasos Avlonitis (Greek: Tasos Aulonites ; born on January 1, 1990) is a Greek professional footballer who is a centre-back with the Austrian side Sturm Graz.

On September 11, 2017 Avlonitis signed a two-year deal to Superleague team Panathinaikos for an undisclosed amount. In the beginning of the 2016-17 campaign, the central defender stood out in the defensive position and has found first-team time difficult to come by since his arrival, however when he is called upon, Avlonitis has proven that he can be relied upon. Due to his absence from playing time, it’s difficult to assess his performance, but the expectation is that he will play more often during the second portion of the season, following the possible deportation from Rodrigo Moledo.

In April 2018, Avlonitis signed a two-year contract with his former club Sturm Graz, in which he played on loan from Olympiacos on the second half of the 2015–16 season. He had previously terminated his contract with Panathinaikos at his own request. On 9 August 2018, he played his first international game as a starter in a 2-0 home loss for UEFA Europa League Third qualifying round, 1st leg game against AEK Larnaca. On 21 September 2019, he scored his first goal with the club with a kick after a Kiril Despodov’s corner in an away 3-3 draw against SV Mattersburg. The Greek defender, who has been irreplaceable this season in Sturm Graz’s backline, produced a cheeky back-heel assist to register his second assist of the season. As a result of his excellent form, was included in the Best XI for matchday 18 in the Austrian Football Bundesliga. On 28 December 2019, Sturm Graz revealed their Team of the Decade, with Avlonitis and Charalambos Lykogiannis both included in the starting 11.

Avlonitis began his career as an amateur with his local side Chalkineo Evias in which he was a player for the club in his local league. In 2007 Avlonitis was signed to Egaleo who for three seasons was a part of the Football League. In the 2008-09 season , he received a loan from Ilisiakos. The following year, he was signed to Kavala which he played for during the entire 2010-11 season. Following the involvement of president of the club, Psomiadis in a scandal involving match fixing, Avlonitis was released and signed an agreement with Panionios.

On July 14, 2014 Olympiacos made an announcement about the departure of Avlonitis from his former club Panionios for a sum of approximately EUR670.000. In his first derby match against Panathinaikos on October 26, 2014 Avlonitis got the winner’s goal in the game for Olympiacos in their 1-0 win over Panathinaikos by 1-0 at home. The next goal was scored against Panthrakikos in the 5-1 win at home. On the 30th of January, Sturm Graz announced that the Austrian team Sturm Graz have expressed an desire to sign Olympiakos the defender on loan. The Greek defender isn’t part of Marco Silva’s plans but Sturm Graz are moving towards the conclusion of a loan agreement until the conclusion in the current season. In the end, the central defensive player will remain at the club of Austria with Sturm Graz, on loan until the conclusion of the 2015-16 season. On the 6th of February, 2016 He made his debut for Sturm Graz in a 2-2 draw away against Altach.

On 30 January 2017, Avlonitis signed for Scottish Premiership club, Heart of Midlothian on a six-month deal running until the end of the 2016–17 season. On 22 May 2017, Avlonitis was released by the club, following the end of the Premiership season.
