Taggart has been married since February 4 on with Juno Grammy-winning musician and producer Dave Genn, formerly of the Matthew Good Band and currently of the group 54-40. (Senator Larry Campbell, former mayor of Vancouver was the officiant for the wedding ceremony.) Tamara along with Dave, her spouse Dave have an infant sonnamed Beckett 2 2007, A daughter Zoe who was born on September 24 in 2008. On December 8, 2010, it was announced that Taggart would co-anchor the CTV News at Six alongside Mike Killeen, effective January 3, 2011, following the stepping-down of longtime anchors Pamela Martin and Bill Good. The career of broadcaster Taggart began when she was a student at BCIT at Burnaby, British Columbia, where she was part of the Broadcast Communications program. In 1991, she graduated (her class was comprised of Vancouver Sports presenter John Shorthouse, NewCap Radio General Manager Steve Parsons, McVay Media program director and writer Paul Durante, swing-shift DJ John Woodlock and former long-time Cariboo broadcaster Dalton Hooker.). Her first work experience was in the field of radio and concert promotions. However, in 1997 she was able to land a regular spot in community calendars on CIVT-TV (then called “Vancouver Television”). Then, she moved into co-hosting the morning show and , later, she hosted the entertainment segment for the news at night.

The year 2001 saw Taggart was promoted to weather desk , where she remained for nine years. The station’s 5 pm noon, 6 pm and 11:30 pm newscasts, she provided the CTV studios’ forecast and also from numerous (and many) locations throughout Vancouver and in the Lower Mainland and on Vancouver Island. In January of 2011, Taggart transferred to the CTV news desk.
