On February 24, 2011, Battle became the first player in Big Ten Conference history to achieve more than 2,000 career points and 500 career rebounds as well as 500 assists in a career. On March 10, 2011, Battle became Penn State’s most prolific scorer of all time, setting the record with a decisive 3-point shot during the quarterfinals at the Big Ten Tournament.

In his second year during his second season at Penn State Battle posted one of the best years during Penn State history setting a record for the school with 189 assists and 635 points (fifth highest ever) while playing his team of Nittany Lions to a school-record 27 wins, and the team’s first national tournament championship ever during the 2010 NIT. Battle was selected as a member of the NIT All-Tournament squad. Battle received first-team All-Big Ten, USBWA All-Region and NABC All-District honors while receiving an honorable mention All-America recognition via FOXsports.com along with CollegeHoops.net. He was the top scorer in all of the Big Ten in scoring in the regular season (17.3 per game) and led the entire nation (1,422 minutes) and the Big Ten (37.4 mpg) in playing time, taking part in 37 starts in every game. He was the top player at Penn State in scoring (16.7) as well as assists (5.0) and threes (92) and was second in steals (45). He ranked within the top fifteen in eight Big Ten statistical categories, with second place in assists 3rd in threes that were made as well as 12th for rebounding (5.3).
