Kogure joined Aguri Suzuki’s ARTA team during the 2006 season, but failed to take home any races during the campaign. Kogure only scored three points for the championship but also managed 5 poles. In spite of this, he came back with Nakajima Racing in 2007, winning three races in his way to his best finish for Formula Nippon; third position in the standings behind Team Impul team-mates Matsuda and Benoit Treluyer. He was fifth in 2008, and fourth in 2009, and is currently leading the championship for 2010 following his victory in the first event at Suzuka.

As a member of Honda’s Formula Dream Project, Kogure had the opportunity to test a Honda RA107 Formula One car at Circuit Ricardo Tormo in January 2008.

Kogure took his first step into his first All-Japan GT Championship with Nakajima Racing. Kogure raced in three races en leading to a 27th place finish at the top of the standings. After focusing exclusively on Formula Nippon only in 2004 Kogure made his return to the newly-renamed Super GT championship, with Dome Project in 2005; finishing in 19th place at the top of the rankings. Although they only won one race in the year 2006, Kogure along with teammate Ryo Michigami were both title hopefuls but ultimately lost out to the teams comprised of Andre Lotterer and Juichi Wakisaka and Sebastien Philippe as well as Shinya Hosokawa. The trio was split by four points at finals this season.

Kogure made his debut as a single-seater in 2001 while driving the Dallara F300 at the All-Japan Formula Three Championship for Now Motorsports. Kogure was eleventh among the overall standings. The following year Kogure made the move to Mugen*Dome Project and claimed the championship by ten points ahead of Paolo Montin. Kogure was the winner of 11 of the 20 races, and was on the podium additional occasions. In non-championship races around the world Kogure came in second place at the Korea Super Prix behind Olivier Pla and was third in the Macau Grand Prix behind Tristan Gommendy and Heikki Kovalainen.

Four pole positions in eight races helped Kogure and Michigami again finish in the top five in the standings in 2007; finishing fourth ahead of Michael Krumm and Tsugio Matsuda on a tie-break as both pairings finished level on 63 points. Sixth place championship placings followed in 2008 and 2009.
