Syrine Ebondo (nee Balti; born 31 October 1983) is an Tunisian gymnast who is a pole vaulter. She is among the best pole vaulters in Africa. She has been seven- time African champion. Her personal record of 4.21 meters, which she set in 2006 is the Tunisian record for the event.
Her 2007 season was cut short and she resigned from the sport completely but did not return until 2012 season. She returned to claim five gold at the 2012 African Championships in Athletics. She was awarded an eighth gold medal in the 2013 African Championships in Athletics, matching Algerian discus thrower Zoubida Laayouni as the top athlete with the highest number of individual victories by a woman during the African Championships.
The 2005 season was capped by her win in the Arab Athletics Championships and a silver medal at the 2005 Francophone Games. She matched her record indoor of 4.20 meters at the French Championships and set an all-time best of 4.21 meters for her fourth consecutive victory in the African Championships, which was also a record in the championships). The same team was selected to be Africa’s representative in the 2006 IAAF World Cup and she placed seventh place.

Born in Tunis She won her first medal in the international arena at the age 15 and won her pole vault crown at 1999’s African Junior Athletics Championships. Balti became the first female pole vault winner at the 1999 Pan Arab Games, following the introduction of the sport into the competition. Balti broke four metres at the time for the very first time back in 2000 , and was able to win victory in the 2000 African Championships in Athletics. Since 2001, she has been based on Toulouse located in France. The year 2001 was the year she broke the African Junior Indoor record that was 4.10 meters.
She placed 9th during The 2001 Francophone Games and sixth at the 2001 Mediterranean Games. The year 2002 was her best. She placed 9th in the 2002 World Junior Championships in Athletics followed by defending their title in the African Championships. A personal record of 4.10 meters during the 2002 IAAF World Cup was also an African junior record. She ran 4.20 meters inside in the 2003 indoor championships (a Tunisian record) and the same height outside in 2004. Another third straight African championship was won in 2004 as well as she defended her title during the 2004 Pan Arab Games.
