In January 2007, she received her the Jerring Award, voted by the Swedish people Sweden to be the top athlete as well as team member in Sweden in the year 2007. The second place in the poll included the Swedish national hockey team for men, which took home Olympic gold as well as World Championships in 2006.

She fell at the first hurdle of her semi-final of the 100 m women’s hurdles event at the 2008 Olympic Games. She missed the entirety of the 2009 season through a stress fracture injury. She had surgery on her shin in late 2008 and, although she had a metal plate removed in June 2009, she declared herself unfit for the 2009 World Championships.

Kallur was then the clear favourite for the World Indoor title in Valencia and won her heat in 7.87 seconds, but did not start the semi-finals, pulling out injured.

The year 2005 was the time she took home her very first gold senior medal in the European Indoor Championships in Madrid. She failed to make it to the final at the 2005 World Championships in Helsinki. She finished third at the 2006 World Indoor Championships. Kallur was, in her greatest accomplishment to date, took home the 100m obstacles at the 2006 European Championships in front of her own fans in Gothenburg. She won with an impressive time of 12.59 seconds ahead of Kirsten Bolm, and Derval O’Rourke.

Susanna Elisabeth “Sanna” Kallur (Swedish pronunciation: [so’san:a’kal:orborn in the year 1981 on 16 February) is a Swedish former athlete who competes mainly with sprints hurdles. She has been awarded several international medals, among them the gold medal at the 100m hurdles during the 2006 European Athletics Championships. Kallur holds the record in the world indoor for 60m hurdles.

Kallur had a moment of brilliance when she winning the 100-meter hurdles during the 2000 World Junior Championship. Then she failed to be a major player in the senior competition. She did not finish in the finals of the two World Championships and then the 2004 Olympic Games. She increased her personal best to 12.67 seconds.

Kallur retained her title at the 2007 European Indoor Championships. She finished only fourth in the 100 m hurdles at the 2007 World Championships in Osaka, despite running a personal best of 12.51s and having a clear lead to the final hurdle. The Swedish team had grounds for appeal, as eventual winner Michelle Perry had crossed over into Kallur’s lane, possibly interfering. But by the time they did register an appeal, the time limit had elapsed. After the World Championships, Kallur won the three remaining Golden League events in Berlin, Zürich and Brussels, posting a personal best in the German capital and beating Perry in all three races.
