Susan Lim is one of the most popular and richest Parasitologist who was born on February 14, 1952 in Seremban, Malaysia. Susan Lim was born at Seremban in the State of Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia, on February 14, 1952. She began her education at Seremban at the Convent of the Holy Infant Jesus, Seremban, and completed her sixth form classes through St Pauls Institution, Seremban. In 1971, she enrolled at into the University of Malaya in Kuala Lumpur to study Zoology. She continued at the same university to earn the duration of her MSc as well as PhD degrees, and was able to fund her studies as an instructor at the university. Her PhD was conducted under the direction by Dr. Jose I. Furtado and Prof. Jose I. Furtado, focused on monogenean parasit of freshwater fishes. The research finished in the year 1987. The year 1989 was the time she was given lectureships within the same department, and in 2003, she was promoted as an associate professor at the Institute of Biological Sciences. Susan Lim had numerous postgraduate students as well as strong international collaborations with experts in her area of expertise.
It is the monogenean species Susanlimae Boeger Pariselle & Patella, 2015 was named by the creators in order to “acknowledge the fact that Dr. Lim was greatly responsible for most of our knowledge of the diversity of Monogenea from Asian Siluriformes.”
Susan Lim died from cancer in Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia on August 2 on 2014, following a long battle.

Lee Hong Susan Lim (February 14 1952 until August 2 2014) More commonly referred to by the name Susan Lim, was a Malaysian parasitologist, who specialized on the Monogenea group of parasitic flatworms, which are significant ectoparasites of fishes. Susan Lim was the first and the only Malaysian member of the International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature. Her work was mostly in the fields of taxonomy as well as Faunistics. However, in later years she was involved in a range of parasitological fields.
