Suresh Premachandran is one of the most popular and richest Politician who was born on November 8, 1957 in Jaffna, Northern, Sri Lanka. Premachandran was born on the 8th of November, 1957, son of farmer. He received his education at Uruthirapuram Maha Vidyalayam as well as Senguntha Hindu College. He later went to Waterloo College, London and Madras Christian College where he took a course in political science.
On the 20th of October, 2001, on the 20th of October 2001, All Ceylon Tamil Congress, EPRLF, Tamil Eelam Liberation Organization and Tamil United Liberation Front formed the Tamil National Alliance (TNA). He ran in the 2001 parliamentary elections as one of the candidates for the TNA in the Jaffna District but failed to win the election.
Premachandran was active within the Sri Lankan Tamil nationalism movement while at school. In 1976, while in London Premachandran was a member of the Eelam Revolutionary Organisation of Students (EROS). He was trained in military by those who were Palestinians who were in Lebanon. In 1979, K. Pathmanabha left EROS to join his own group, the Eelam People’s Revolutionary Liberation Front (EPRLF) and Premachandran joined with him. Premachandran assumed the name of war Suresh in 1979 and became a member of EPRLF’s central committee as well as the politburo. Premachandran was appointed the leader of the EPRLF after the assassination of Pathmanabha by the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam on June 19, 1990.

Arumugam Kandaiah (Tamil: aarrumukm kntaiyaa pireemccntirnnn born on 8 November 1957; more commonly referred to by the name of Suresh Premachandran) is a Sri Lankan Tamil militant turned politician, and former member of the Parliament. He is the chief of the Eelam People’s Revolutionary Liberation Front (EPRLF) and an affiliate of the Tamil National Alliance (TNA).
Premachandran was one of the ENDLF/EPRLF/TELO/TULF alliance’s candidates in Jaffna District at the 1989 parliamentary election. He was elected and enrolled in the Parliament.
Premachandran contested the 2004 parliamentary election as one of the TNA’s candidates in Jaffna District. He was elected and re-entered Parliament. He was re-elected at the 2010 parliamentary election. He failed to get re-elected at the 2015 parliamentary election after coming seventh amongst the TNA candidates.
