Sumon is one of the most popular and richest Singer-Songwriter who was born on January 8, 1973 in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Sumon was born in the year 1973 Dhaka, Bangladesh to Nazmul Ahsan Khaled and Shamsun Nahar Khaled. There are two brothers named Shamsul Arefin Khaled as well as Saiful Arefin Khaled. He also has one sister called Shahina S. Khaled. Khaled is a resident of Oregon, USA. He was a student at Government Laboratory High School. Following that, he finished his degree from Dhaka City College. He began performing Hawaiian guitar around the age 7. When he was interviewed, Sumon stated that he was unable to purchase an Spanish guitar and so he brought the Hawaiian instrument to an store and then converted it to the Spanish guitar. He purchased one of his very first Spanish guitar and formed his first group when he was just 12 years old. The other day, he was watching the Iron Maiden show on TV. He was awed to the music of Steve Harris. From then on, he began practicing bass guitar. He was 15. He was a member of one of the biggest and most renowned groups from Bangladesh “Feelings” as bassist at the age of 17 and performed with the most popular rock star in Bangladesh, Faruq Mahfuz Anam who is also called James. He performed the first solo bass without accompaniment in Bangladesh when he was just 17.

Following the release of Aurthohin’s Fourth album, “Dhrubok,” Sumon’s health began to decline. It was in 2011 that it was reported that he was diagnosed with stomach cancer. After chemotherapy and surgery, Sumon was pronounced cancer-free in the year 2013. Sumon wrote the lyrics to his cancer, “Cancer”, which was released on the album Aushomapto 2. The cancer returned and he was forced to go through 12 surgeries over the course of five years.

Sumon is also director for Khaled Group of Companies. He has two children , Ahnaf Salehin Khled and Aurora Salehin Khaled and a wife who is named Nazia Salehin Khaled (1996-present).Both of his children performed alongside him in his album Boka Manushta’.

Saidus Salehin Khaled Sumon (Bengali: saaidus saalehiin khaaled sumn born on 8 January 1973) popularly referred to as Bassbaba Sumon, is a Bangladeshi rock composer, singer bassist, record producer and co-founder of Bangladeshi rock group Aurthohin. The band has had him as the only continuous member of the group since 1998 and has been featured in every album of the group.

Sumon was born in Dhaka and was raised in Dhaka. He began learning the bass when he was 15. He auditioned for the rock group Feelings in 1990 when he was 16 and was a member of the band in the same year. He was a member of 11 bands by the time he reached the age of 19. In 1997 when he was 19, He joined Warfaze and then appeared on the band’s hit album in 1998 “asaamaajik (Antisocial)”. In 1999 the year he released his debut self-titled album “sumn o arthhiin (Sumon and Aurthohin)” and later in the same year, he founded the group Aurthohin.

In 2016 he released his first solo bass album named “Soul Food Part 1”.In the album, Sumon collaborated and featured world-renowned musicians, in the likes of Felix Pastorius, Robert ‘Bubby’ Lewis, Josh Cohen, Bob Franceschini, J.D. Blair and Erfan Nazem Zadeh. Talented Bangladeshi drummer Mark Don is also featured in one of the tracks.
