Subrat Kumar Prusty (born 1976) is an Indian Odia-language scholar activists, social entrepreneurs author and literary critic. He is the Member Secretary of the Institute of Odia Studies and Research, Bhubaneswar, Odisha. He was the one who drafted the research documents and was instrumental in defending the status of classical to Odia language, which was the basis for the formation of the Central Institute of Classical Odia, Odia University and implementation of the Orissa Official Language Act, 1954.
As a child, Prusty set his foot in the social sector following the father’s ways. In his high school career, he started an institution for libraries and book banks for rural students who do not have access to books for their study. To make the service accessible to a wider audience by increasing the number of young people, the organization was established. Sangathan Viswabharatiyam & Ganatantrika Grama Samaj which that fought for the oppressed and their rights as social. In his role as the volunteer coordinator for Sangathan Vibha Bharatiyam, he organized a relief camp and rehabilitation activities in the Supercyclone-hit regions in Coastal Odisha on 31 October 1999 until the 10th of December, 1999. He also served as an active volunteer for the Orissa Disaster Mitigation Mission, Bhubaneswar organized an aid camp for earthquake- stricken regions of Gujarat on the 31st of January until 10 February 2001.
