Stuart Green (born 15 June 1981) is an English semi-professional footballer, who is now a no-bidder following his the departure of Whitehaven where he worked as manager of players.
On July 15, 2009 it was announced that Green was to sign two-year contracts with newly elevated Wycombe Wanderers. He was to play in the team of Peter Taylor for the third time, however , after Taylor was dismissed in October 2009 following an inexperienced start to the 2009-2010 campaign, Green did not make another appearance.
On 11 May 2011, Green was released by Wycombe Wanderers and was made a free agent. He then signed a two-year contract with Conference North side Workington on 29 July 2011 after he moved home to his native north-west. Later the same day he scored on his Workington ‘Reds’ début against Cumbrian rivals Barrow in a 1–1 draw.
On 29 June 2012, Green became player-manager of Northern League Division One side Whitehaven. After a good season which saw Whitehaven achieve their highest ever league finish in the Northern League Division Two and reached their first Cumberland Senior Cup final, Green decided to leave at the end of the 2012/13 season after one only one year with the West Cumbrian club.
Green continued to be a first-team player at Hull and rejected an offer to MK Dons in January 2006 to try and secure an opportunity to be a regular player within Hull’s first team. Hull team. But on August 31, 2006, Green joined Peter Taylor at Crystal Palace as part of a deal worth PS75,000. In early October, Green’s most arduous appearance in the club’s history Crystal Palace came at an away game with Hull City when he came in as a substitute for half- time. Green scored in his first full appearance as a player for Crystal Palace in the home game with Cardiff City on 14 October in which they were defeated by a score of 2-1. He scored a second goal in his second full game for the club on January 1, 2007 in a match against Norwich City However, he didn’t play in a lot of games following Peter Taylor was sacked as manager. Then, on December 31, 2008 the transfer day, he signed an 18-month deal with Blackpool. But, after only six appearances and five of them on the bench for substitutes and struggling to make it into the Seasiders squad, Green was sent on loan to League One club Crewe Alexandra on the 14th of November, 2008. Green made his debut on the following day , in the 0-2 defeat at home at Leyton Orient.
