Stoyan Kolev is one of the most popular and richest Association Football Player who was born on February 3, 1976 in Sliven, Bulgaria. Stoyan Kolev (Bulgarian: Stoian Kolev ; born on the 3rd of February, 1977 from Sliven) was a previous Bulgarian footballer who was goalkeeper. He is currently the goalkeeper coach in Arda Kardzhali.

In the beginning of the season following, Kolev was unable to play a single game on his A PFG, after he was named as a bench player for every league match. In April 2011, Borel was injured for the season and Kolev was made the first choice goalie. On June 7, 2011 Kolev signed an extension for one year which kept his place at Chernomorets until the end of 2013. On December 4, 2011 Kolev made a goal against Botev Plovdiv in a match of the Bulgarian Cup, but it was a consolation because Chernomorets were defeated by a score of 2-1 in the Hristo Botev Stadion. On the 23rd December, he won as the A PFG Goalkeeper of the Year by the media. He quit Chernomorets Burgas on 16 June 2013.

In July 2013, Kolev signed with CSKA Sofia. On 15 March 2014, he made a rare appearance in the Eternal derby of Bulgarian football against Levski Sofia, keeping a clean sheet in the 1–0 win. He joined the coaching staff following his subsequent retirement.

In July 2015, several months later, after CSKA Sofia was sent to the third division due to the bad financial situation in the team, Kolev came out of retirement and went back on the field. He started as the first choice goalkeeper in the league, while Anatoli Gospodinov plays in the cup matches. In the first 9 matches in the V Group, he kept clean sheets.

After a stay of 2 years at Romanian club Otelul Galati, Kolev signed the two- and-a-half year contract at Chernomorets Burgas on the 24th of February 2010 and then joined onto a free transfer. As a goalkeeper at Chernomorets Kolev, he is the second goalie choice ahead of Pascal Borel. After being placed as a reserve goalie for Chernomorets’s 11 games in the 2009-10 season Kolev made his debut in the home game against Slavia Sofia on May 2 with a 2-2 draw in the league.

In the summer of 2001, Kolev was signed by CSKA Sofia and was loaned to Beroe Stara Zgora on the basis of a three-month contract. He made his debut with Beroe on the 10th of November, 2001, maintaining his scoreless in a draw that ended in a 0-0 draw with Levski Sofia. In the early part of 2002, Kolev returned to CSKA. On the 11th of May, 2002 Kolev was the first player to make an appearance in the team of CSKA in a 2-0 loss in a match against Slavia Sofia. Kolev started the 2002-03 as the first choice goalie in CSKA and kept 13 clean sheets in his 24 appearances , and only conceding 14 goals with less than a goal per game. CSKA were awarded its 29th A PFG title.

Kolev was the first player to be selected to the Bulgaria team aged 26. Kolev made his debut with Plamen Markov’s Bulgaria in a friendly game against Spain on the 20th of November, 2002, as an CSKA Sofia player, coming in as a substitute for the second half in the 0-1 defeat to Los Carmenes in Granada. Kolev was Bulgaria’s third goalie in the third position, following Zdravko Zdravkov along with Dimitar Ivankov, during the UEFA Euro 2004, remaining unnoticed as a substitute during the tournament.

On 14 February 2012, Kolev was selected as goalkeeper for Lyuboslav Penev’s first match in charge, a friendly against Hungary. On 29 February, he made a substitute appearance, replacing Nikolay Mihaylov on 63 minutes in a 1–1 draw. It was Kolev’s first match for Bulgaria since the friendly with Bosnia and Herzegovina in August 2008.
