Stewart Petrie (born 27 February 1970) is a Scottish footballer and coach who is currently the manager at Scottish League Two side Montrose. He played most of his career playing for Forfar Athletic and Dunfermline Athletic before moving to Australia. Petrie was back in Scotland in 2007 to play in the Scottish club Ross County. Since then, he has been an assistant coach for various clubs including Arbroath, Forfar Athletic, as well as the SJFA East Superleague side Broughty Athletic.

In 2007 the year 2007 he became a member of Scottish Second Division side Ross County as a coach/player and assisted in their promotion into the Scottish First Division before retiring at the close year 2007-08. He continued to be with Ross County in a youth coaching position.

After Dick Campbell was sacked by Forfar Athletic, Petrie took over as caretaker manager in December 2015 overseeing a one all draw with Albion Rovers before making way for incoming manager Gary Bollan.

On 6 July 2016, Petrie became the assistant manager of SJFA East Superleague club Broughty Athletic, where he stayed for five months before being appointed manager of Scottish League Two side Montrose on 4 December 2016. He led the Angus side to the Scottish League Two title and promotion to the third tier in April 2018.

He joined the Central Coast Mariners for the first A-League season. He joined to coach the team however, an injury-related issue resulted in Petrie was able to become an official player. He shared with the Golden Boot with Alex Brosque Bobby Despotovski, Archie Thompson, scoring eight goals in the 2005-06 campaign.

Petrie is a native of Dundee in Scotland. He began his professional career with Scottish club Forfar Athletic, before moving to Dunfermline in 1993. He spent the majority part of his Dunfermline career as a left-midfielder and he scored an average goal rate of one every six games throughout the 10 years he spent there. The most well-known moment of his career is scoring an important score in the closing match of the 1995-96 campaign that was a major factor in winning Dunfermline the league title and, with it, promotion into the Scottish Premier League.
