On February 9, 2009 Jacobs declared his wedding to rose Jacobs(Kelly) she is a journalist for The Weather Channel, once his divorce was completed with his previous wife of nine years, Alison; they married in Bali in May of 2010. In November of 2010, he revealed his news on Today on Today that Rose was expecting their first child. In May 2011 she gave birth to a daughter. In April of 2013, Rose gave birth to the couple’s second daughter.
In April and August 2009, Jacobs presented weather on Nine News Melbourne in place of Livinia Nixon.
In December 2016, Jacobs announced that he would leave Today to spend more time with his family. In 2017, he swapped places with Natalia Cooper and became the weather presenter on Weekend Today.
The month of April, 2008 alongside his Today weather obligations, Jacobs hosted the Australian version of the US gameshow Power of 10. The show was later cancelled after only airing two episodes.
