The tournament took its form as a rankings tournament followed by a knock-out competition. It was the British squad scored 3833 points and was 6th following an initial ranking. They won against Germany at the end of the 16th round as well as Australia in the quarter-final gave them a semi-final against the host nation Spain. Britain was defeated by 236-234 but they then beat France in a shoot-out to take home an Olympic bronze.
