Stephen “Steve” Trittschuh (born April 24 1965) is a American football coach as well as a ex-player who is now the head coach of the USL Championship side Saint Louis FC. As as a player, he was as a defense player for the Major Indoor Soccer League, American Professional Soccer League and Major League Soccer. He also played in 38 caps for the United States men’s national soccer team, including one game in the 90 FIFA World Cup.

Beginning in the Spring of 1988 until in the early spring of 1989 Trittschuh was a member of an amateur team called the Busch Seniors of St. Louis while not on the Olympic or national teams.

In 1989, Trittschuh served as an assistant coach with the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville men’s soccer team. In 2003, he became an assistant coach with the Colorado Rapids.

On May 4, 1989, he signed on loan with the Tampa Bay Rowdies of the American Soccer League. He continued with the Rowdies as the team played in the newly formed American Professional Soccer League.

In 1988 the year 1988, he was part of the U.S. team which went 1-1-1 in the Seoul Olympics. As mentioned previously the fact that he was a part of the U.S. team at the 1990 FIFA World Cup and played for the entire 90 minutes of their first match against Czechoslovakia. He was also part in the team that won 1991’s Gold Cup championship team. He also took part in his final game for the national team with the Saudi Arabians.
