Stephen Kunda (born August 17 1984) is an Zambian soccer central defensive player, who is currently an unrestricted free agent. He previously had a stint with Power Dynamos F.C. in his country of birth before his move to Finland. Kunda can also play as the defensive player. Kunda was on contract to RoPS through the conclusion of the 2012 season.
In the beginning, in RoPS, Kunda was considered to be a defensive midfielder. However, Kunda was then moved to the defensive position following the fact that RoPS suffered injuries and suspensions for their defense players. Kunda did well in central defence, and later his position was changed to a an all- time central defense. Kunda is skilled in technical skills and maintains his cool even under pressure from opposing players. The 2010 season Kunda has been playing as a midfielder while Jarkko Lahdenmaki was the defender in the team’s starting lineup with American Etchu Tabe.
The 2nd of August, 2008 Kunda was picked as a central defender for the Finnish Premier League’s top XI during July.

Kunda was among the Zambians who visited RoPS in 2007. He was with Nchimunya Mweetwa Chanda Mwaba Chileshe Chibwe, and Zeddy Saileti’s brother Derik Saileti to try out the RoPS. A quintet (Mweetwa, Kunda, Chibwe, Mwaba) got contract’s with RoPS. Kunda signed a RoPS three-year long contract, which includes two years option. The following season, the contract was extended to 2012. Following the season RoPS received promotion into Veikkausliiga (Finnish First Division).
On the 15th of November, 2008 RoPS informed RoPS that Kunda was loaned to an old club Power Dynamos F.C. and also played a few matches with Mwaba in guest player status.
Kunda and eight other RoPS players got sacked in the spring of 2011 due to match fixing scandal.
