Stephen Frail is one of the most popular and richest Association Football Player who was born on August 10, 1969 in Scotland, United Kingdom. Stephen Charles Frail (born 10 August 1969) is a Scottish soccer player and coach.

When he was at Morton, Frail began to be involved in coaching initially as a coach under Peter Cormack then former teammate at Hearts Dave McPherson. He left his position as a player towards the conclusion of the 2001-02 season , and became a full-time assistant for Morton’s third manager during the following year, John McCormack. McCormack was fired in the year 2004, and Frail as well as the remaining coaching staff quit with him. In the following year, following an attendance at Hearts UEFA Cup tie with Sporting Braga, he was invited to join the coaching team by the manager at the time, Craig Levein. As the first coach of the Under-19 team, he was elevated to assistant coach when John McGlynn left to manage Raith Rovers in 2006.

In April 2009, Frail was appointed a coach at Celtic, working with their reserve and youth teams. He left this position on 1 September 2015.

After leaving Celtic, Frail worked with the Scotland U16 team and scouted for Bolton Wanderers before the Irish Football Association appointed him to be full-time manager of the Northern Ireland Under 19 and Under 17 teams in August 2016.

Frail came back to Scotland in the form of St Johnstone in 2000, being signed another time by his previous Hearts director Sandy Clark. After one season in Perth the player relocated to Greenock club Morton.

Frail was a rookie in the team of Archie Knox’s Dundee in 1985. He gradually becoming a regular player towards the end in the decade. Frail helped Dens Park’s Dens Park team win in the first Scottish Challenge Cup in 1990-91 but his progress was slowed by a severe knee ligament injury that forced Frail to miss nearly all of the season.

Frail joined Hearts with a PS130,000 contract in March 1994. His performance during the 1994-95 season as a right-wingback led to speculation on the internet about being selected for the Scottish national team. His injury continued to limit his progress however, and during an away game against Dundee United on the 21st of March 1995, he was struck by a similar knee ligament injury similar to the one he suffered at Dundee. He was out for the entire 1995-96 season , and on the return of his fitness, he discovered his previous position as a player in the team occupied from Gary Locke. In a position that was not able to sustain a permanent place in the team, the player was substituted for a defensive midfielder when needed in addition to assisting Locke however he decided to leave Edinburgh to join Merseyside after Tranmere Rovers offered him PS90,000 in January 1998.

Frail, along with sporting director Anatoly Korobochka, took temporary charge of Hearts’ first team in March 2007 after the departure of Valdas Ivanauskas. It was confirmed in June 2007 that Frail and Korobochka would take charge of the Jambos for the 2007–08 season with Bulgarian Angel Chervenkov coming in as assistant, though it was left ambiguous which one of the pair had responsibility for team selection. After poor form, which saw Hearts drop to tenth in the SPL, Frail was promoted to caretaker manager in January 2008 as the club planned to appoint a new permanent manager. It was announced Frail will be replaced as manager at the end of the 2007/08 season.
