Stephen Boock is one of the most popular and richest Cricketer who was born on September 20, 1951 in Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand. Stephen Lewis Boock ONZM (born 20 September 1951) is an ex- New Zealand cricketer who played 30 Tests as well as 14 One Day Internationals.
In 1984-85, he played against Pakistan on the Niaz Stadium he took his career- highs innings score of 7-for-87.
He was a slow left-arm orthodox bowler and is one of only 6 New Zealanders to have taken over 600 first class wickets.[1] After a Test against Pakistan at Wellington in 1985 he had achieved a career high of 9th place in the PriceWaterhouseCoopers rankings for Test cricket.[2]
In 1992 he launched a high-profile campaign for Dunedin’s mayoralty. He was unsuccessful, but was elected to the city council for the southern ward.
In 1983-84, New Zealand won their first ever series against England and Boock was able to score 437 points in Christchurch.

Boock played his first test in Wellington during February of 1978, in New Zealand’s maiden victory in the Test series against England. He played his first overseas tour couple of weeks later, in England and during the Test match in Trent Bridge. Trent Bridge conceded just 29 runs in a 28-over period that included 18 maidens as well as 2 wickets.
In 1979/80, during the dramatic close of the First Test against Clive Lloyd’s West Indians at Carisbrook, Dunedin, Boock joined Gary Troup at the crease . New Zealand 100 for 9 and still needing 4 extra runs for victory in the historic game. The two tailenders led to the field and led the Black Caps to their first test victory over those from the West Indies, and what was to be their first victory in the series against the Caribbean giants when they were able to scramble through for an extra leg when scores were at a level. The tour was controversial, marked by umpire disputes and some sloppy onfield behavior from the tourists New Zealand won the series by 1-0 following a draw in the next two test in Christchurch in Christchurch and Auckland.
In 1985–86, during the Black Caps’ first Test series win over Australia, Boock had a rare success with the bat. He contributed 37 runs in a New Zealand record tenth-wicket partnership of 124 with John Bracewell (83 not out) in the Second Test at the SCG. New Zealand won the series 2–1.
