Sten Grytebust is one of the most popular and richest Association Football Player who was born on October 25, 1989 in Ålesund, Norway. Sten Michael Grytebust (born 25 October 1989) is an Norwegian professional footballer, who plays as goalkeeper with the Danish Superliga team FC Copenhagen. He was previously a player in the Aalesunds FK Aalesunds FK, a team in the Norwegian Tippeligaen and, until the close of the 2018-19 season was a player for Odense Boldklub in Denmark. His debut came with the Norwegian national team in the year 2013.
The 2011 season began poorly with Aalesund losing to Fredrikstad partially because of a bad goal kicked by Grytebust and, after his victory-saving stops with respect to Viking and Stabaek the head coach of the team Kjetil Rekdal predicted Grytebust was the next goalie for the national team. Grytebust was consistent throughout the year and was recognized by being chosen to the national Under-23 team along with teammates Peter Orry Larsen and Peter Orry Larsen, despite neither of them being aware that there was a team like this. Grytebust’s performance also earned him praise from the goalkeeping coach of the national team Frode Grodas who said his belief that Grytebust had “without weaknesses”. Following the conclusion of the season with a win at the Norwegian Football Cup Final, Grytebust was awarded the title of “Aalesund player of the year” by the local newspaper, Sunnmorsposten alongside Daniel Arnefjord.
Grytebust was first called up for the Norwegian national team in June 2013, and made his debut a friendly match against Macedonia on 11 June 2013 when he replaced André Hansen a couple of minutes before full-time. He became the 150th player Egil “Drillo” Olsen used during his two spells as national team coach.
Grytebust left Aalesund in February 2016, joining Danish Superliga club Odense BK on a free transfer. He was voted Danish goalkeeper of the year in both 2017 and 2018 before joining FC København, again on a free transfer in May 2019, having opted not to sign a new contract at Odense.
After being a part of Aalesund’s first-team The young Grytebust was selected as the third goalie ahead of Adin Brown Andreas Lie and later Anders Lindegaard who joined the club on loan. The team was in August of 2009 following Lindegaard’s loan spell ended, the team’s management decided to offer Grytebust his first appearance in the Aalesund team instead of Lie. Grytebust made his debut against the local opposition Molde FK on the 22nd of August 2009, and put in an impressive performance, despite conceding three goals. Following the debut match, Aalesund signed Lindegaard permanently and Lie was dropped from the club with Grytebust as the goalkeeper of second choice for the next season. He took part in two initial rounds of the 2010 Norwegian Football Cup.

Grytebust was not initially a player as a goalkeeper. However, as a teenager, he stepped in to goal when the goalkeeper of his team was injured. An impressive performance resulted in him being chosen as the primary goalie for the team. At the age of 15, Grytebust received an offer from Aalesunds FC, however, he decided to join Ellingsoy’s premier team of the Norwegian fourth tier , before joining the Aalesund youth team a year after. After two seasons playing in the youth team, Grytebust joined Aalesund’s first team prior to the 2008 season.
Grytebust was informed by the club in autumn 2009 that He would be the goalkeeper to be the first choice at the club. Following this season Lindegaard became the new owner of Manchester United and Grytebust was named the goalkeeper of the team. Lindegaard said he was of the opinion that Grytebust was well-equipped to perform the job and was confident that he would join the Norwegian national team one day.
The 2012 season continued with Grytebust unchallenged as first-choice goalkeeper for Aalesund. Results varied and he received criticism when Aalesund were eliminated from the domestic cup in the fourth round against Sandefjord, with Grytebust being sloppy with a pass and conceding a goal. Later, during a match against SK Brann, he was again careless with a goal- kick, which ended with another goal conceded. In August the club reported that it had re-signed Andreas Lie as a back-up keeper, with Lie stating that he was keen to “play for a permanent spot”.
