He was more successful in the 2014 European Mixed Curling Championship, where he was able to lead his team comprised of Kristin Moen Skaslien Magnus Nedregotten and Julie Kjaer Molnar to the silver medal, after being defeated by Sweden during the championship final. He had even greater successes during the 2014 World Mixed Curling Championship. He took his team comprising Molnar, Sander Rolvag and Pia Trulsen to a silver medal.

Walstad participated at 3 World Junior Curling Championships, from 2008 through the year 2010 inclusive. In 2008, at the World Junior Curling Championships he placed third for the Kristian Rolvsfjord team, coming in 4th position. In 2009, at the World Junior Curling Championships he was second on the team, coming in 5th position.
