Dawn Coe-Jones is one of the most popular and richest Golfer who was born on October 19, 1960 in Campbell River, British Columbia, Canada. Dawn Coe-Jones (October 19 1960 – November 12 December 12, June 12, 2016) was a Canadian professional golfer who competed for the LPGA Tour, and a member of the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame. Hers was the very first female Canadian golfer to reach $1 million in career earnings. She also announced the appearance in the field of Canadian female golfers on the international stage in the 90s.

Her first LPGA win was during her first win at the Women’s Kemper Open in 1992. Coe-Jones was joined by a her caddie and former acquaintance Kelly Feltrin, who was in her bag when she took the Kemper. She won her first title in 1994 at the LPGA Palm Beach Classic and 1995 Tournament of Champions. Her highest score was 63 in the Safeco Classic in 1998.

Coe-Jones’ favourite hockey team growing up was the Montreal Canadiens, but after living in Florida for many years she adopted the Tampa Bay Lightning. She was present for their 2004 Stanley Cup victory.

Coe-Jones made her farewell appearance at the CN Canadian Open in 2008, finishing 14-over after two rounds and missing the cut.

She played in her first name of birth, Dawn Coe, until her wedding ceremony to Jimmy Jones in November 1992. She relocated from Texas to Tampa in Texas in 1992 to be closer to the man she was to marry in the same in the year Jimmy Jones, and acquaintances who were on the tour. James, their son James was born three years later.

She had a stellar amateur career, scoring back-to back wins at the B.C. junior tournaments in 1979 and 1978 as well as the B.C. Amateur in 1982 and 1983. The season ended by winning an overall Canadian Women’s Amateur title and was awarded NCAA all-American honors during her time at Lamar University. She was awarded a scholarship during her sophomore year, and was awarded an education degree from elementary school.

Coe-Jones was a participant in the LPGA Tour from 1984 to in 2008, winning three tournaments and more than $3 million in earnings over her career. She was a participant in more than 20 Canadian women’s open tournaments. The best chance she had to win her national title came in the year 1993 when she finished third in the standings behind Brandie Burton, and Betsy King at London Hunt. She was fourth in a tie with fellow Canadian Gail Graham in 1998 in Windsor, Ontario.

Coe-Jones was inducted into the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame in 2003, and the B.C. Sports Hall of Fame in 2013.
