His episcopal consecration was received on June 13, 1996, by the Archbishop Michael Bzdel, C.Ss.R. With bishops Cornelius Pasichny, OSBM, and Wolodymyr Paska as co-consecrators within the Cathedral of Ss. Vladimir and Olga.

He was then vice-chancellor (1985-1994) and the Chancellor (1994-1996) from 1994 to 1996 in Winnipeg and also did pastoral duties.
