Stan Humphries is one of the most popular and richest American Football Player who was born on April 14, 1965 in Shreveport, Louisiana, United States. William Stanley Humphries (born April 14 1965) was an ex- professional American football player. He was a player in the Washington Redskins and San Diego Chargers of the National Football League. He played in the high school team in Southwood High School and college football at Northeast Louisiana (now named the University of Louisiana at Monroe). He was picked to the Redskins in the sixth round of the 1988 NFL Draft.
The year 1997 was the one when Humphries became the first player to quit following a string of concussions. In his playing career he guided his team the Chargers through three postseason appearances as well as the team’s first Super Bowl appearance. Humphries began his career with San Diego for six years and made 81 starts over the 88th game, while making 1,431 of his 2,516 passes for 17191 yards, and scoring 89 times. It began with the Chargers coming back from a 21-6 deficit at halftime at home to beat Miami’s Miami Dolphins (led by Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino) with a 22-21 win during the AFC divisional playoffs. Humphries made the first two-point conversion at the Super Bowl (which was adopted by the NFL at the beginning during the 1993 season) by throwing a pass towards Mark Seay.
