Not selected in the 1973 NFL Draft, Sixkiller had trial sessions for The Los Angeles Rams in 1973 as well as in 1974 with the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League in 1974. He joined the Philadelphia Bell of the World Football League in September 1974. He also played in the league with The Hawaiians in 1975, Sixkiller along with a few other players left the team at the end of the season, after players were required to accept an increase of 20% in their pay and the whole league fell apart the following week. He played for The San Diego Chargers in 1976.
Sixkiller was absent for four games when he was a senior in 1972 . He ended his career at the college level with 385 passes for 5 496 yards and 35 touchdowns and also held 15 school records. The Huskies had consecutive records of 8-3 between 1971 and 1972. They were part of the Pac-8 Conference allowed only one team to compete during the playoffs, which was the Rose Bowl, until the season of 1975.

In football Sixkiller was an All-Southern Oregon Conference selection as well as an All-State second team selection. He played backup at quarterback in the sophomore year of the senior Gene Willis, who later played for Washington. In basketball He was an all-conference player. - He led his Huskies to a record of 6-4 that was an enormous improvement over the record of 1-9 in 1969. Sixkiller completed 186 passes for 1,530 yards and 15 touchdowns during what is often referred to as”the Year of The Quarterback, during which Jim Plunkett of Stanford passed for 2,715 yards during the season and broke his own record in the conference. Plunkett took home the Heisman Trophy in 1970, beating Notre Notre Dame’s Joe Theismann and Archie Manning from Ole Miss.
Sixkiller was also a cast member in the 1974 film The Longest Yard. He is currently an executive for sports marketing firm IMG College, serving his alma mater, the University of Washington.
