Siarhei Naumchyk (Belarusian Siargei Iosifavich Naumchyk ; Russian: Sergei Iosifovich Naumchik born on January 15 in 1961) is a Belarusian journalist and politician from Belarus.
On March 26, 1996, Navumchyk left Belarus along alongside BPF Zyanon Pazniak, the party’s leader. According to unconfirmed information that President Alexander Lukashenko has ordered an arrest of Pazniak and Navumchyk who were both prominent opposition personalities. Siarhei Navumchyk subsequently got political asylum in the United States and currently works for Radio Liberty, the Belarusian version of Radio Liberty.
On April 12, 1995, Navumchyk as well as others from the opposition parliamentary party were on sit-in and hunger strike in opposition to the referendum that was controversially pushed by the president Alexander Lukashenko.
