Sherri Steinhauer (born on the 27th of December 1962) is an American professional golfer who is a part of the Legends Tour. She resigned on the LPGA Tour in 2012 after an impressive 26-year playing career. The place she was raised was Madison, Wisconsin and attended The University of Texas at Austin. Her first season with the LPGA Tour was 1986. She has won eight events on the Tour which includes two major championships: in 1992’s du Maurier Classic and 2006 Women’s British Open (she also holds two other titles, 1998 and 1999 titles, both acknowledged from the Ladies European Tour as majors but not by the LPGA Tour).

In March of 2009 Steinhauer stated that she would not participate in 2009 as she was recovering from surgery that she underwent in February on one hip , and also prepping for similar surgery on her other hip that will be scheduled in May. Steinhauer came back to the Tour in the year 2010.

Steinhauer announced her retirement from the regular tour after missing the cut at the 2011 Canadian Women’s Open. She returned in 2012 at the Kia Classic and also played that year in the Kraft Nabisco Championship. She is eligible to participate in the 2018 U.S. Senior Women’s Open on account of her major wins.

It was the Women’s British Open replaced the du Maurier Classic as an LPGA major in 2001.
