Sherman Greenfeld (born June 3 1962) was an ex- Canadian professional racquetball player who hails from Winnipeg, Manitoba. Greenfeld was the winner of 2 World Championships and 10 Canadian Championships and was considered to be one of the best tennis players in Canada throughout the 1980s and the 1990s. Greenfeld quit national competitions in 1999 after an appearance at the Pan American Games in Winnipeg.
Greenfeld was the silver medalist at 1999’s Pan American Championships, his final tournament for Canada and lost against the fellow Canadian Mike Green in the final. Greenfeld also took home bronze medals at his 1996 Pan American Games and 1993 World Games.
In 2001, Greenfeld was inducted into the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame.
Greenfeld was inducted into the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame in 2002, and was elected to the International Jewish Sports Hall of Fame’s induction class of 2015.
Greenfeld’s appearance as a member of Team Canada is tied for the second highest number of appearances by a male athlete with Mike Ceresia. Greenfeld has last represented Canada during the 1999 Pan American Games in his hometown of Winnipeg and he came in fourth.
