Devapurage Shehan Madushanka Kumara or often referred to known as Shehan Madushanka (born 10 May, 1995) is an professional Sri Lankan cricketer, who is limited in international cricket. He is a right-handed batsman, and a right handed speed medium-slow bowler. He is a former student from Joseph Vaz College, Wennappuwa.
In January of 2018 the player was selected for Sri Lanka’s One Day International (ODI) team to play in 2017-18 of the Bangladesh Tri-Nation Series. He made his debut in ODI with Sri Lanka against Bangladesh in the final match of the tri-series on the 27th of January 2018. In the game it was his fourth bowler and the second Sri Lankan to take a three-wicket the first ODI of his career.
In March 2018, he was named in Dambulla’s squad for the 2017–18 Super Four Provincial Tournament. The following month, he was also named in Dambulla’s squad for the 2018 Super Provincial One Day Tournament.
In May 2020, Madushanka was arrested for allegedly being in possession of heroin and then suspended from all forms of cricket. He was carrying over two grams and 700 mg of heroin with his friend when detained in the town of Pannala by Police.
In February of 2018 the player was included to Sri Lanka’s Twenty20 International (T20I) squad for their series against Bangladesh. Madushanka also made his T20I debut in Sri Lanka against Bangladesh on 15 February, 2018. The second T20I, Madushanka took two quick wickets in one over before suffering an injury to her hamstring, which forced her out of bowling. Sri Lanka won the match and the series with ease. However, due to an injury, he did not play in his place in the Nidahas Trophy on March, as well as a number of different bilateral matches.
