Shane Dronett is one of the most popular and richest American Football Player who was born on January 12, 1971 in Orange, Texas, United States. On January 1, 2000, the Dronett was signed to an agreement for five years that was worth $20 million. In September, when playing with a torn ACL, Dronett was struck by an ACL tear that was complete when taking down Carolina Panthers quarterback Steve Beuerlein. Following injuries, Dronett came back one game after the injury and ended the game with just four tackles.
After his playing career, Dronett began to exhibit paranoia, confusion, fear, and rage. According to his family, Dronett’s behavior changed radically. He was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor in 2007. Its removal did not alleviate Dronett’s symptoms.
Dronett confronted his wife with a gun on January 21, 2009. As she ran for safety, he turned the gun on himself. His death was ruled a suicide by the Gwinnett County Medical Examiner’s office.
The Lions removed Dronett at the close of the 1996 season and he was hired again by the Falcons who had just appointed their head coach Dan Reeves, who had initially drafted Dronett to join the Broncos. Dronett was a key player in the Falcons defense, which was ranked third in NFL in tackling the run. They allowed only 75.2 yards of rushing per game. They also recorded 313 tackles. 29.5 Sacks and forced 13 to fumbles (11 that were recovered). When the Falcons took home their first NFC Championship in 1998, Dronett took part in Super Bowl XXXIII with the Denver Broncos.
At the 1993 NFL Draft, the Denver Broncos chose Dronett at the 2nd round. Dronett stayed in the Broncos for four seasons and played all 16 games during his rookie season. Dronett played with as well his team the Atlanta Falcons and the Detroit Lions in 1996. He played 12 total games (5 with the Falcons 7 with the Lions.)
Dronett suffered several other injuries, including knee and shoulder problems, over the next two seasons that limited his ability to play. He was released by the Falcons in 2003.
