Sergio Raul Torres (born 11 July 1981) is an Argentine footballer currently the Player-Assistant Manager of Eastbourne Borough in National League South. He is a holder of an Italian passport since his mother was Italian. He played previously in his Argentinian homeland , as also in the league football for Wycombe Wanderers, Peterborough United and Crawley Town.
In July 2008, Torres as well as Russell Martin joined Peterborough United for a combined fee of PS200,000. Torres worth PS150,000. The transfer to Peterborough was not a huge success however, with Torres even contemplating return home to Argentina and consulting with a sports psychologist following not being picked or not playing in a position. He was then transferred by the club after being promoted into the Championship and then joined Lincoln City on a one-month loan on the 17th of September, 2009. The 28th of October 2009, Torres was signed by Lincoln up to January. He was transferred again by Peterborough towards the end of the 2009-10 season.
In July 2010, Torres joined Crawley Town on a two-year contract. The transfer fee was not disclosed, but BBC Sport suggested that it was around £100,000. Torres enjoyed considerable success with Crawley during which time the Reds won promotion to the Football League and then League One under Steve Evans as well as reaching Round 5 of the FA Cup in 2011, to play at Old Trafford against Manchester United. Crawley disposed of three football league sides, Swindon Town, Derby County and Torquay United on the way. Torres played the full 90 minutes at Old Trafford in central midfield. Despite still being a non-league side at the time, Crawley narrowly lost 0-1, but had 52% possession and hit the bar in the last minute. After a change of manager, Torres was released in 2014.

Torres began his profession with Argentina in the Club Atletico Banfield in his hometown city in Mar del Plata playing part-time as a worker in the brick factory of his family. After two seasons, he chose to leave the club in order to pay for his own journey into England in 2004 with the intention to impress Brighton & Hove Albion during the two-week trial. While Albion did not show any enthusiasm, he signed with non-league Molesey and then moved to Basingstoke Town later in the year. While in Basingstoke, Torres worked at Boots where he stacked shelves to make a living. He also bicycled to work.
In July 2005, Basingstoke Town played a pre-season friendly game with Wycombe Wanderers, during which Torres impressed coach John Gorman and was offered the chance to sign a two-year contract.
